Testimonials 2013

"The Wexford Acting Studio provided me with a safe environment to express and develop as an actor. It is an institution that I refer to as my original home in performance. I humbly thank Sarah McGraw as one of the best instructors, directors, and coaches I've had. I also credit her for helping me get into NYU Tisch School of Arts. While attending school in Manhattan, it is clear that I was provided with a solid foundation for the intense acting work I currently do."

Matthew Sciarappa, NYU Tisch School of Arts, Stella Adler Studio of Acting, BFA Drama

"As a dancer primarily, I was initially hesitant to enroll in an acting class. Only a couple weeks in at Wexford Acting Studio, and it was clear that not only was I gaining self-confidence and speaking skills, I was learning to present myself in a way that made me a much stronger performer of dance. I can only attribute the success I found to the unending passion of my teacher, Sarah McGraw, and the warm and comfortable atmosphere that my fellow actors greeted me with each and every class. I highly recommend Wexford Acting Studio, and I especially urge dancers to consider expanding their talents by taking a class with the wonderful Sarah McGraw."

Grace Swihart, Ohio University 2016, Media Arts & Studies/Dance

"Wexford Acting Studio has given me such a fun and beneficial experience that I will never forget. Every student feels like a member of the family that is the studio. Classes, workshops, and shows are some of the memories I will hold close for the years to come."

Michael Cefalo, Baldwin Wallace University 2017, Musical Theater

"I would not be the actress I am today without the experiences and lessons I had through the Wexford Acting Studio. After not making the musical freshman year, I wanted to improve my stage performance and confidence for the sophomore audition, that is when I first came to WAS. After working in class and through private lessons with the phenomenal Sarah McGraw, I made the high school musical sophomore year. My junior year I was cast as a narrator and featured dancer, and my senior year I had a supporting role that was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Gene Kelly Awards. Since high school, I was cast in my first professional show, Chicago, with the Kean Theatre as June, a sassy cell block tango dancer, and currently was cast as a featured dancer in the Music Man for this upcoming summer with a theatre in State College. Next fall I will be in Orlando auditioning to be a character at Disneyworld.
From my resume, it is safe to say that working with Wexford Acting Studio helped me grow as a performer and actress, but more importantly the Wexford Acting Studio taught me how to handle the ups and downs that come from the theatre business. My acting skills were highly enhanced through the different improvs and scripted activities we worked on in class, but I think what I gained the most from my three years at WAS was confidence. Confidence to succeed in auditions, confidence to succeed in shows, and confidence to succeed in life.

"My experience at Wexford Acting Studio was nothing but positive. Acting class was a wonderful place for me to forget about my worries, and explore myself as an actress. Everyone at WAS is so incredibly nice, and Sarah McGraw is an amazing performer, teacher, and role model. In a seminar at Carnegie Mellon, they asked us to raise our hands if at some point in our lives someone believed in us who empowered us to get to where we are today. I raised my hand, and Sarah McGraw is part of the reason for it. I can't imagine a better person to be teaching kids than Sarah. WAS is awesome and Sarah is awesome. I would highly recommend Wexford Acting Studios to anyone that wants to better themselves as a performer and grow as a person."

Emily Carr, Carnegie Mellon School of Music, BFA Vocal Performance

"Wexford Acting Studio has given me skills that have and will extend into every area of my life. Not only have I developed as an actress, but Sarah McGraw has truly shaped me as a person. I would not be where I am today with out the help of the inspirational instructors of The Wexford Acting Studio."

"I'm very grateful for the experience that the Wexford Acting Studio has given me. It's been an honor to perform in some of their shows and I'm thankful for the awesome skills that I've learned from Miss Sarah's teaching. A fun place for all ages to learn and grow in their knowledge and desires of the stage."

Dan Deluca

"Wexford Acting Studio was a great experience, and I learned a lot about acting. The fall musicals are always fun. I am not sure if I will go to Gannon University or Muskingum University. Because of my theatre experiences there, I plan to double major in education and theatre."

Michael Fujito

"Wexford Acting Studio taught me a lot about performing, while giving me skills that extended beyond the stage. While acting was the primary focus, I also saw an improvement in my public speaking, social skills, and overall confidence. Plus, I made a lot of friends! I really enjoyed how the studio combined weekly classes with a yearly, large-scale production, giving the students an opportunity to learn, experiment, and perform. Thanks!"

Aleksey Porcelli

"Nothing compares to the feeling of performing, except maybe the feeling of walking in to a rehearsal and seeing my best friends."
